Communications Committee

The Communications Committee is responsible for the content and management of various information outlets (e.g. newsletter, social media) provided to members of the association as well as consumers.

Improvement Goals:

  • Update ISHA website with ISHA Voice articles as appropriate.

  • Update the Licensing and Certification section of the ISHA website. 

Maintenance/Continuation Goals:

  • Post to ISHA’s social media outlets regularly.

  • Request content from ISHA committees for social media and the monthly e-newsletter.

  • Disseminate information regarding the association, committee work, and the professions via the quarterly newsletter.

  • Update the ISHA website with current/relevant information as necessary.

Ethics Education Committee

The Public Information and Marketing Committee promotes the professions of speech-language pathology and audiology. This involves educating the consumer about communication disorders and the resources that are available through community-based participation in health and career fairs and social media. This committee is also responsible for the ISHA banner and brochures which are available for use by ISHA members. This committee works to recruit, retain, and educate professionals and ISHA members.

  • To monitor the development of the Public IM&M Committee’s opportunities to explore and collaborate across the Illinois Speech Language and Hearing Association for opportunities to expand membership with the intention of supporting sustainability of the organization at large. 

  • By July 2026, we will educate the consumer in the role of speech language pathology and audiology in meeting community needs through submitting for and obtaining Governor’s proclamation for May’s National Speech Language and Hearing Month.

  • By July 2026, participate in at least 1 effort to support increase in membership for professionals entering the field.

  • By July 2026, to support sharing of ISHA member community involvement across the organization the Public Information Membership and Marketing Committee will:

    • Participate in at least 1 activity to support increasing public knowledge of the field of speech language pathology and audiology and report to social media chair for dissemination in ISHA Voice and Monthly newsletter.

    • Create a call to action for others to share community involvement for dissemination in ISHA Voice and Monthly newsletter.
