• ISHA’s Ethics Education Committee continues to work and prepare its presentation for the 2025 ISHA Convention. 
• The Evidence-based Practice Committee had a meeting at the end of September.  The committee is also excited to announce that Tom Giza will be the committee chair taking over for Mary Bacon and Victoria Reynolds after the February meeting at the 2025 ISHA Convention.  The committee is excited to welcome Tom as the new chair and thanks Mary and Victoria for their leadership. 
• ISHA’s Student Involvement Committee is planning to meet the first week of October and will be joined by (hopefully all of) NSSLHA presidents of the Illinois universities with CDS programs. The committee plans to send a handout to the students that night that can be shared with their organizations with reminders about student membership benefits. During the meeting, there will be discussions regarding the student events planned for the 2025 ISHA Convention.  The meeting is tentatively planned for October 3^rd.  The Student Involvement Committee reminds all students that student membership in ISHA is free.  Students can join ISHA as a student member for free via this link.  
• The Medical Practice Issues Committee will be hosting a graduate student medical SLP office hour for students to ask questions.  The committee will also be hosting a medical clinical fellowship cohort program. 
• ISHA’s DEI committee held its first meeting of 2024-2025 year on September 13^th.  The committee encourages the membership to review the committee’s article entitled Addressing DEIAB in Speech-Language Pathology: Overcoming Barriers and Innovating for Change in the August 2024 issue of the ISHA Voice to learn about the direction of this committee.
• The Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Practice Task Force (IPECP) submitted three presentations for the upcoming convention. The first in an introduction/refresher: What is interprofessional practice (and what isn’t). All are welcome to attend this session. The other sessions are focused on where you work. There is a team presenting a medical case and another with a pediatric focus. We hope to appeal to a broad audience based on your unique interests.  Interested in learning more about Interprofessional education and practice? Join us! Experience not required.
