Margaret (Peg) Aylesworth, MA, CCC-SLP (1938-2023) of Lanark, Ontario, Canada served on the Northwestern University (NU) Speech & Language Pathology faculty from 1968-2006 in the Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders, where she earned both her B.A. and M.A. During her tenure, she insightfully developed one of the first interdisciplinary early intervention clinics, which was state funded, and facilitated early intervention (EI) credentialling in Illinois via the EI Committee for the Illinois Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ISHA). Peg was an ISHA Fellow. She served as NU Clinic Director and was instrumental in developing academic and clinical programming in feeding disorders and augmentative communication. She served the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) as local arrangements Co-Chair for an early Chicago based ASHA Convention. Peg was devoted to her students, colleagues, and clients on both professional and personal levels. She listened carefully with empathy and expertise and was fair in her decision making, laced with a wry sense of humor. Peg enjoyed a 52-year marriage to William Aylesworth, who survives Peg.
